On Oct. 24, in conjunction with the Big Draw's Street Drawing event, theRuskin Farmer's Market will re-open behind the Ruskin post office, 14 Thriftway Plaza.
And the Apollo Beach Chamber of Commerce wants to show off its new digs during its Octoberfest grand opening. Come by 137 Harbor Village Lane between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 14 for music, free food and beverages.
Hillary Stewart of Give A Dog A Bone in Apollo Beach has organized BOO Bash at the Critter Adoption and Rescue Effort shelter, 1528 27th St. S.E., Ruskin, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 24. There will be vendors, food, prizes and Halloween-related costume contests. Come show your support for the shelter, and bring along your canine companion. The Aussie Pet Mobile will be on site to clip your pup's nails for $8. All proceeds go to the shelter.
Salutes Sports Grille, 11238 Boyette Road, Riverview, is celebrating its first year in business, and SaVá Cafe, 5469 U.S. 41 N., Apollo Beach, is commemorating two. Congrats to both businesses. It's rather tough out there.
